Machu Picchu Tour Itinerary:
03:45 – 13:00: At Bus Station – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
By having booked the tour with Guru Explorers, we will make the arrangements to buy the train tickets and the entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, taking into consideration your needs and appropriate, as far as possible, to the availability of services.
The starting time of the tour depends on the coordination that takes place and the availability of tickets by the time the trip is booked. On this shared tour, there’s a bus service from the train company who will take you to the train station round way (in the morning and afternoon when you come back from the tour).
From the city of Cusco, the departure is usually between 03:00 – 04:00, where the passenger has to be at the bus station in Cusco City 30 min before the departure time. The bus ride to Ollantaytambo train station lasts 2 hours or less depending on traffic. If the group is in the town of Ollantaytambo, we can help you arrange a transportation to the train station if needed.
The exciting train trip lasts 1.5 hours until you reach the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, where our guide awaits you at the train station to give you the instructions and meeting point for the shared tour experience to Machu Picchu.
Once the group is ready, you go up in tourist transport to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the 7 Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the tour guide, you will have the opportunity to see the fountains, temples, stairways, and architectural spaces of this enigmatic archaeological complex and much more!
The tour guide will explain to you the history and all the interesting facts of Machu Picchu in a tour where you’ll also have time to get the best pictures.
13:00 – 21:00: Lunch – Return to Cusco
After connecting to the natural, mythological and architectural magic of Machu Picchu, start the return to the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, where you enjoy lunch and, if you wish, it’s hot springs.
Make the most of the tour in this town, whose access is only possible by railroad or walking through mountain trails.
It will correspond to return by train to Ollantaytambo station; then you take the bus to finally get to Cusco around 9:00 p.m.
