Arequipa is known as the White City for its architecture, built mainly with white volcanic stone, known as sillar. It is also famous because its landscapes are surrounded by four imposing volcanoes.
If you are looking to take a trip to Arequipa, we recommend visiting its historic center (Plaza de Armas and Monastery). You also have other inevitable destinations such as the valley and the Colca canyon, and the salt flats.
The coldest months are June and July, just after the rainy season.
The direct flight between Arequipa and Lima is 1.5 hours.
