Route
Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu Itinerary
4:00 a 8:00 horas: Departure from Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
We will start our tour very early, around 4:00 am. The adventure will begin with your transfer to the Ollantaytambo station, where the train will be waiting for you to take the trip to Aguas Calientes.
The trip will take about an hour and a half, where you can take the opportunity to observe the beautiful postcards from the slopes, mountains and crops.
At 8:00 AM, we will arrive at our destination, where a representative from Guru Explorers will be waiting to accompany you to board the bus to Machu Picchu.
7:00 a 21:00 horas: Wayna Picchu - Machu Picchu - Return to Aguas Calientes - Return to Cusco
As soon as we arrive at our destination, you will begin a two and a half hour hike up the Huayna Picchu mountain on your own. On this walk you will find unique views of the slopes and enjoy it at your own pace.
Then we will meet to start a shared guided tour of Circuit 1 or 2 (depending on availability). We will visit the Citadel, a historical site that was the cradle of the Inca Empire and a World Heritage Site.
Once finished this tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes so you can have lunch and stroll around the town. In the course of the afternoon we will return to the train to return to Ollantaytambo and then to the door of your hotel.

What does it mean that the tour is shared?
- It means that you can share the tour with a group of tourists from different nationalities and ages, both from Guru Explorers and other operators. It's an excellent opportunity to connect with travelers from various parts of the world! If you prefer a tour where you do not share with others, please request the Private Tour option.
- In the shared tour option, the duration of the tour may vary depending on the pace of the group members. The return time may also fluctuate depending on traffic in the area; therefore, we provide an approximate schedule. Please remember that both traffic and the pace of tourists are not the responsibility of Guru Explorers.
Other Considerations:
- The schedule for trains and access to Machu Picchu may vary depending on availability. We recommend making reservations as far in advance as possible.
- Due to train company regulations, it is not permitted to carry backpacks, large suitcases, or bags. Only small bags or backpacks weighing up to 7-8 kg are allowed.
- For transfers from Cusco, please note that sometimes access is limited due to the narrow streets of the city; if this is the case, a nearby pickup point will be suggested.
- Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- Due to environmental, climatic or other factors beyond our control, the itinerary of the trip may vary. If so, we will notify you in a timely manner.
- Guru Explorers value your time and strive to respect the tour schedule; however, it may vary for reasons beyond our control (weather, natural disasters, field conditions, among other demonstrable reasons). We will do our best to offer efficient options and solutions for your enjoyment.

Terms and Conditions
Cancellation Policies:
- Cancellations within 14 days or more in advance, a penalty of 130 USD per person will be charged, which includes administrative concepts, entrance tickets to Machu Picchu and train company fee.
- Cancellations with 7 to 13 days in advance, the penalty is 60% of the total price of the tour.
- Cancellations with 6 days or less in advance, there will be no refund.
- There are no refunds for entrances to Machu Picchu Mountain ,Huayna Picchu Mountain or other additional entrance tickets.
Date changes:
- For changes of dates notified 14 days or more in advance, an additional charge of 90 USD will apply, which includes change fee for the entrance to Machu Picchu and the train company
- For changes of dates notified 7 to 13 days or more in advance, an additional charge of 120 USD will apply, which includes a change fee for the entrance to Machu Picchu and the train company
- It will not be possible to make date changes 6 days or less in advance
- There will be no refund in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather or other external factors.
