Itinerary for the ATV Tour to the Rainbow Mountain

The schedules may vary depending on the availability and programming of the tours 

03:00 am - 04:00 am - Hotel Pick-up – Transfer – Breakfast

We start early! We will pick you up from your hotel between 03:00 and 04:00 am and take you to board the van that will be our transport for the entire day. After approximately one and a half hours of travel, we will arrive at the local restaurant to enjoy breakfast. 

05:00 am - 08:00 am – Transfer to the base of Rainbow Mountain  –  Start of the tour 

Once recharged, we will travel for 2 hours until we reach the base of Rainbow Mountain, where the adventure on semi-automatic atv will begin. It is recommended to have previous experience in handling semi-automatic atv and to carefully follow the guide's instructions at all times.

We will start the tour, enjoying the beautiful landscape and observing Andean camelids such as llamas and alpacas. After approximately half an hour of driving, we will reach the parking area for the atvs where we will then begin a 10-minute walk and finally arrive at Rainbow Mountain.

08:00 am - 10:30 am – Arrival at the Rainbow Mountain – Return to the base

Once at Rainbow Mountain, you will have time to take photos, videos, and listen to our guide's explanations. Afterwards, we will return to the atvs and embark on a 30-minute journey back to the base. .

10:30 am - 16:00 pm – Return to Transport – Lunch – Return to the city of Cusco

We will leave the atvs and take our transport back to the restaurant, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch after a 2-hour journey.

Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco, where our service will conclude in the city center, around 16:00 hours.

The price of the ATV Tour to the Rainbow Mountain includes:

• Pick-up from accommodation in downtown Cusco.
• Transportation.
• Return to Cusco's Historic Center.
• English and Spanish-speaking tour guide.

The price of the ATV Tour to the Rainbow Mountain does not include:

• Transfer from hotels outside the city of Cusco
• Breakfast (in case of a 2 am departure time)

What to bring for the ATV Tour to the Rainbow Mountain?:

• It is important to wear gloves that protect against the cold when we drive the ATVs.
• Comfortable footwear for mountain hiking
• Cap
• Warm jacket
• Sunglasses
• Water
• Sunscreen
• Passport or ID.
• Cash (local currency).

Considerations to keep in mind when taking the ATV Tour to the Rainbow Mountain:

• The tour is operated jointly by one of the communities of the Rainbow Mountain, the standard of it is basic compared to the standard offered on tours operated entirely by Guru Explorers.
• We recommend reviewing the video on YouTube where you record with real images what the tour is like and once you are satisfied, proceed to the purchase.
• The tour is not recommended for children under age
• You must have experience riding a motorcycle or bicycle as there will be a preliminary test on the ATVs (if you do not pass this test, you will not be given access to the ATVs).
• It is ideal to visit some other spaces in the city of Cusco before ascending to the mountain to acclimatize to the altitude.
• Due to environmental, climatic, or other factors beyond our control, the travel itinerary may vary. If so, you will be notified in a timely manner.
• Guru Explorers values your time and strives to respect the tour schedule; however, it may vary due to reasons beyond our control (weather, natural disasters, field conditions, among other demonstrable reasons). We will do our best to offer efficient options and solutions for your enjoyment.

Not allowed:

• Pets
• Smoking during tours
• Large suitcases or bags

Not recommended for:

• People with high blood pressure, asthma, or heart problems.
• People in wheelchairs.
• Pregnant women.

Cancellation Policies:

• With 3 days or less notice, there will be no refund.
• Between 4 and 7 days notice, a 60% refund will be provided.
• More than 7 days notice, an 80% refund will be provided.

Date Changes:

• Fees applied for date changes in group tours:
• No extra charge if notified more than 5 days in advance.
• If notified between 3 and 5 days in advance, an additional 25% charge will apply.
• If notified with 2 days or less notice, changes cannot be made and will not be subject to refund.
• Subject to availability.
• There will be no refund in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather, or other external factors.
