Via Ferrata itinerary in Sacred Valley:

  • Departures from Cusco and the Sacred Valley: 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
  • The schedule is approximate, as the duration of the activity will depend on the agility of the group members.

8:00 – 10:30 a.m. | Hotel pickup + transfer to the Sacred Valley

Our day begins early. At 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up at the door of your hotel in the historic center of Cusco or selected areas of the Sacred Valley to head to the famous Sacred Valley, one of Peru’s most spectacular destinations.

10:30 – 11:00 a.m. | Safety briefing and equipment distribution

Upon arrival, our specialized guides will provide a safety briefing with key instructions for the climb. You will then receive the certified equipment needed for the Via Ferrata.

11:00 – 12:30 p.m. | Mountain ascent via Via Ferrata

We will begin the 300-meter ascent, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

12:30 – 1:00 p.m. | Box lunch at the summit

Once at the top, we will take a well-deserved break and enjoy a box lunch at a natural viewpoint with a spectacular view.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. | Mountain descent

After recharging our energy, we will begin the descent on foot and by rappelling 100 meters, appreciating a different perspective of the valley.

2:00 – 4:00 p.m. | Return to Cusco and end of the tour

At the end of the descent, we will begin our journey back to your hotel in the historic center of Cusco or selected areas of the Sacred Valley.

The Via Ferrata in Sacred Valley includes:

  • Box lunch service according to activity schedule:
    • AM Box Lunch: Caprese sandwich, chocolate, mandarin, dried fruits.

  • Return transfer to your hotel in downtown Cusco or selected areas of the Sacred Valley.

The Via Ferrata in Sacred Valley does not include:

  • Tips.
  • Footwear and clothing for climbing.
  • Beverages during the ascent (bringing a water bottle is recommended).

What to bring for the visit to Via Ferrata in Sacred Valley?

  • Comfortable shoes with good grip (no sandals).
  • Flexible clothing that allows comfortable movement.

What Does a Shared Tour Mean?

A shared tour means you will be part of a group with travelers of different nationalities and ages, including participants from Guru Explorers as well as other operators. It’s a great opportunity to connect with people from all over the world! If you prefer a private tour without other participants, please ask us about our Private Tour option.

Seating in Transportation:

Seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of pickup.

Pickup and Schedule:

  • The day before your shared tour, you will receive an estimated pickup and return time.
  • Punctuality is essential to avoid delays for the group.
  • The tour duration may vary depending on the group’s pace and traffic conditions, so return times are only approximate.
  • Please note that Guru Explorers is not responsible for delays due to traffic or variations in the group’s pace.

Other Considerations:

  • Access to the historic center of Cusco is restricted for vehicles due to its narrow streets. In some cases, your guide may suggest a nearby meeting point for pickup.
  • Minimum age: 9 years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Remember that, since these are outdoor activities, the natural features of the landscape may vary depending on weather conditions and the natural daylight. Each visit is an authentic experience, where nature reveals itself in unique and unrepeatable ways.

Not Allowed:

  • Pets.
  • Smoke.
  • Large suitcases or bags.

According to Peruvian regulations, foreign tourists may be exempt from the local tax IGV (VAT). As a formal and registered travel agency, we are required to submit to the local authorities a copy of the document you used to enter the country, as well as your date of entry. For this reason, a few days before your arrival, we will contact you to request a photo of that document and ask you to let us know the date you entered Peru. If we do not receive this information, we will be required to add the 18% corresponding to the IGV tax.

  • There will be no refunds in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather, or other external factors.

Force Majeure Policy

  • Guru Explorers values your time and makes every effort to follow the itinerary. However, it may be affected by force majeure events such as weather conditions, rain, natural disasters, protests, roadblocks, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided, as these are unforeseeable and unavoidable situations. Nonetheless, we will do everything possible to offer efficient alternatives and solutions for your enjoyment. Any additional costs resulting from changes or alternative activities will be the responsibility of the client and not Guru Explorers.
