Itinerary of “Street food” and old taverns in the historic center of Lima:

We will meet at the entrance of the Gran Hotel Bolívar, an iconic building that will impress you from the very beginning. From there, we will begin our walk toward Plaza San Martín and the traditional Jirón de la Unión.
Throughout the tour, you will be accompanied by an expert guide, who will share with you the story behind each flavor, as well as anecdotes, secrets, and the rich history of Lima’s Historic Center.

Our first gastronomic stop will be El Chinito, where we will enjoy the classic pan con chicharrón, one of the most iconic breakfasts in the city. We will then head to the Central Market to taste seasonal local fruits and explore some of its most colorful stalls.

After leaving the market, we will continue toward Chinatown, where we will explore its picturesque shops on a guided visit full of history and tradition.

Next, we will enter an authentic chifa, where we will taste emblematic dishes of Peruvian-Chinese fusion cuisine, such as oriental bites and the popular arroz chaufa. A bit later, we will stop at Churros San Francisco to try their famous churros filled with manjar blanco.

Our gastronomic journey will then take us to the historic Bar Cordano, one of Lima’s most traditional establishments, where we will enjoy a delicious causa rellena accompanied by chicha morada, Peru’s most popular traditional beverage.

Our next stop will be the Plaza Mayor of Lima, the heart of the historic center, and we will conclude our tour at Alameda Chabuca Granda, where, depending on the day, we may find various street food vendors and taste some of Lima’s most iconic street dishes, such as anticuchos, picarones, mazamorra morada, or emoliente.

The tour ends around 5:00 p.m. in the historic center.

If you do not provide this information, or if you have been in the country for more than 90 days, we will be required to add the 18% corresponding to the IGV tax.
