03:50 pm – Meeting Point / Start of the Activity

In the afternoon, we will meet at the designated point in Huacachina, from where we’ll begin a short walk up the dunes to board the buggies… How exciting!

Dune Buggy Ride and Sandboarding

Upon reaching the desert, we’ll start with a thrilling buggy ride through the dunes. Those who wish can enjoy recreational sandboarding. The activity includes a wooden board to slide down the dunes either sitting or lying down. If you prefer not to participate, you can take this time to capture incredible photos of the landscape.

Luxury Picnic in the Huacachina Desert

After the ride, we’ll head to the camp. The setting will amaze you with its attention to detail: rugs, floral décor, lamps, lighting, cushions, and a delicious meal prepared for you.

6:10 pm – Return

After enjoying an exclusive picnic in the Huacachina Desert, we’ll return with a 10-minute straight buggy ride back to the designated parking area, from where passengers will descend on foot.

Note: Schedules are approximate and may vary depending on the time of year.

The private picnic in Huacachina includes:

• Ride through the Huacachina Desert in a dune buggy (Spanish-speaking driver).
• Recreational sandboarding activity.
• Picnic in the desert: fruits, sweet snacks, ham, cheeses, olives, nuts, crackers, pastries, plantain chips, pasteurized mineral water, demi-sec sparkling wine, and sugar-free soda. If the passenger does not drink alcohol, juice will be offered instead.
• Waiter service.

The private picnic in Huacachina does not include:

• Transfer from Lima or any other location not mentioned in the itinerary.
• Additional meals and drinks not included in the menu.
• Professional sandboarding equipment (available in other tours). This tour includes the amateur/recreational board.
• Tour guide.

• Camera.

• Warm clothes (it can be windy).

Considerations for dinner in the Private picnic in Huacachina:

• Remember that, since these are outdoor activities, the natural features of the landscape may vary depending on weather conditions and the natural daylight. Each visit is an authentic experience, where nature reveals itself in unique and unrepeatable ways.

Not Allowed:

• Pets.
• Smoke.
• Large suitcases or bags.

Not recommended for:

• People with heart problems, back problems, asthma or high blood pressure.
• People in wheelchairs.
• Pregnant women.

According to Peruvian regulations, foreign tourists may be exempt from the local tax IGV (VAT). As a formal and registered travel agency, we are required to submit to the local authorities a copy of the document you used to enter the country, as well as your date of entry. For this reason, a few days before your arrival, we will contact you to request a photo of that document and ask you to let us know the date you entered Peru. If we do not receive this information, we will be required to add the 18% corresponding to the IGV tax.

• More than 30 days in advance: Penalty is 20% of the total amount
• Between 7 and 30 days in advance: Penalty is 40% of the total amount
• Less than 7 days in advance: Penalty is 100% of the total amount

Date changes

• More than 30 days in advance: Penalty is 5% of the total amount
• Between 7 and 30 days in advance: Penalty is 10% of the total amount
• Less than 7 days in advance: Penalty is 100% of the total amount
• Subject to availability.
• There will be no refunds in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather, or other external factors.

Force Majeure Policy

• Guru Explorers values your time and makes every effort to follow the itinerary. However, it may be affected by force majeure events such as weather conditions, rain, natural disasters, protests, roadblocks, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided, as these are unforeseeable and unavoidable situations. Nonetheless, we will do everything possible to offer efficient alternatives and solutions for your enjoyment. Any additional costs resulting from changes or alternative activities will be the responsibility of the client and not Guru Explorers.
