The Citadel of Pachacamac is one of the most important archaeological conservation destinations in Peru and the world. Exploring this Peruvian site is an excellent opportunity to travel back in time to the oldest Andean civilizations.
Temple of the Sun
This is the largest temple in the entire Citadel of Pachacamac. This structure dates back to the time of Pachacamac's conquest. At that time, this temple was built as a gathering place for the worship of the Sun god. This temple occupies the highest part of the entire sanctuary.
Palace of the Virgins of the Sun
This enclosure is part of the impressive sanctuary of Pachacamac and is dedicated, as its name indicates, to the Virgins of the Sun. In other words, it is a place of worship for virtuous women, whose participation in various rituals was of great importance, achieving significant spiritual transcendence.
Paso Horses
Pachacamac also offers cultural events of interest, such as the Paso Horse show, featuring the best horses in the region and the world. During the presentation led by horsemen, the riders dressed in typical Peruvian attire make the horses move to the rhythm of traditional dances.

Hotel Pickup
The day begins with a pickup at your hotel at 8:50 AM to start the journey to Pachacamac, located about 31 kilometers from the city of Lima.
Guided Tour of the Citadel of Pachacamac
Once we arrive at the citadel of Pachacamac, you will be accompanied by an expert guide who will show you the most important temples of the ruins, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of Pachacamac, and the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun.
Return to the Bus to Visit a “Casa Hacienda”
After exploring all the archaeology of Pachacamac, we will head to a traditional “Casa Hacienda” to enjoy typical Peruvian dishes in a wonderful buffet lunch. The dining experience includes local desserts and a live show of local dances and folklore.
Show of Peruvian Paso Horses
To conclude this interesting tour, you will witness a show of Peruvian Paso Horses, performed by local riders (chalanes), who, dressed in traditional attire, will demonstrate the best of “La Marinera” on their horses. At the end of the show (optionally), you can ride one of the horses and take a ride on it.
Return to the Hotel
After this wonderful experience, we will return to the hotel at approximately 4:00 PM.
