Located in one of the most beautiful places in Peru, the Humantay Lake & Salkantay Pass Tour 2D/1N (with domes) has to offer a walk full of unimaginable landscapes that dazzle with their beauty and tranquility. Its turquoise waters combine perfectly with a range of snow-capped mountains, surrounded by trails that offer panoramic views to hikers.
The tour includes an exciting adventure that starts early in the morning, including breakfast and lunch. We will be located at the Sky Camp in Soraypampa, a site with unparalleled views of the mountains and the starry sky at night.
The Humantay Lake & Salkantay Pass Tour 2D/1N (with domes) has expert guides who are fluent in both English and Spanish and who will accompany us all along the way. Therefore, there is no reason to worry about anything but enjoying the tour.
The groups are small and usually consist of 2 to 10 people, plus the guide and an assistant. As a health safety measure, we do not exceed 12 people per group.
The Humantay Lake is one of the most sought after destinations for trekking and hiking lovers, being one of the natural wonders of Cusco. It is very accessible for its short walk, paths surrounded by a natural environment of hills, streams and inhabited by llamas and alpacas.

Itinerary of the Sky Camp & Humantay Lake Tour 2D/1N
DAY 1:
CUSCO | CHALLACANCHA-SORAYPAMPA-SKY CAMP-HUMANTAY LAKE
The day begins with the pickup of the passengers from their respectives hotels at approximately 04:00 a.m. We will drive for 3 hours through Anta and Mollepata until we reach Challacancha which will be the starting point of the trek. Around 09:30 a.m. we will start trekking to Soraypampa (3869 m.a.s.l. / 12,690 FASL) for 3 hours. Once there, lunch will be served.
Then we will head for 3 hours (5 km / 3.1 miles) to the Humantay Lagoon (4,221 m.a.s.l. / 13,845 FASL). Finally, after admiring the lagoon, we will return to Soraypampa Sky camp to enjoy the night.
The difficulty of the walk is MODERATE considering the approximately 6 hours of walking.
DAY 2:
SORAYPAMPA | SKY CAMP-ABRA SALKANTAY-SORAYPAMPA-CUSCO
Today we will wake up at 5:30 am. We will enjoy an energetic breakfast to begin our hike up the trail known as "The path of the 7 snakes' ' to the highest point of this trek: The Salkantay pass (4,638m.a.s.l. / 15,213 FASL). Then, we will follow a downhill trail that will take us to Soroycocha where we will have lunch. After that, we will continue descending to our Sky Camp in Soraypampa where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
We will arrive in the city at approximately 6:00 p.m.

What to bring for the Salkantay & Humantay Lake Tour 2D/1N?
- Choose comfortable and optimal footwear for hiking, warm jacket, caps or hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, clothes or poncho for rain (especially from November to April).

Considerations
Considerations for the Salkantay & Humantay Lake Tour 2D/1N:
- The seating arrangement on the transport is random, based on the order of arrival and pickup
- The streets of the city are narrow, which limits vehicular access to certain places; in this case the guide will suggest a nearby point to pass by looking for you and enjoy the tour.
- You must be in reasonable physical condition to do the tour.
- If the reservation is made by 1 person, it is likely that you will have to share the dome with another person. If you want a private dome, please ask us the price difference.
- It is important that you enjoy a few days in Cusco before doing the Tour; only then your body will be adapted to the altitude of the region.
- This tour is not recommended for children under 12 years old. Adults over 60 years of age should be aware that this activity requires a good physical condition.
- Due to environmental, climatic or other factors beyond our control, the itinerary of the trip may vary. If so, we will notify you in a timely manner.
- Guru Explorers value your time and strive to respect the tour schedule; however, it may vary for reasons beyond our control (weather, natural disasters, field conditions, among other demonstrable reasons). We will do our best to offer efficient options and solutions for your enjoyment.

- More than 7 days, 50% will be reimbursed.
Date changes:
- Fees applied for change of date in private tours:
- There will be penalty of 100 USD for date changes.
- If notified 7 days or less in advance, it will not be possible to make the change and will not be subject to reimbursement.
- There will be no refund in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather or other external factors.

¿ What is the level of difficulty of the Humantay Lake Hike?
At Guru Explorers, we categorize this hike as MODERATE. The physical effort is not so demanding, although we recommend using hiking poles.
Due to the altitude of the region we suggest you be acclimatized with at least 2 days in Cusco to avoid respiratory problems.
¿ It is possible to do the Humantay Lake tour on horseback.?
Yes, at the base of the beginning of the hike you will have horseback transportation services. The owners, local people, will accompany you as muleteers along the way.
In high season it is difficult to find available horses due to the demand. The approximate price to hire this service round trip is approximately 100 Peruvian soles. (~30 USD - payment is in cash and in Peruvian Soles).
¿ What is the weather like during the Humantay Lake Tour?
The cold season is between May and October, and the rainiest months are between November and April. However, the weather at high altitude is unpredictable, from sunny, windy, cold, to rain out of the blue.
We recommend that you plan your clothing to withstand the weather conditions. The sun is usually intense during the morning and part of the afternoon and the temperature can range from -5 to 18 °C.
¿ What luggage should I bring to the Humantay Tour??
No suitcases or large bags are allowed. However, you may bring a backpack for basic items such as water, camera, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, among others.
¿ What is the difference between group service and private service?
In the group service you share the experience with a small group of passengers, all departing from Cusco and being picked up at their respective lodgings.
