Detailed Itinerary of the Rainbow Mountain + Cielo Punku Tour 

 Pick-up at the accommodation in Cusco 

Pickup at the accommodation in Cusco We will start our day with pickup at your accommodation in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:50 in the morning. A comfortable and safe vehicle will be waiting to take us to our first stop.

Breakfast in Colcca City

 Our first stop will be in the charming city of Colcca, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast that will prepare us for the adventure ahead. This breakfast will be an opportunity to taste authentic local cuisine and enjoy the hospitality of the locals.

Transfer to the Cusipata base

After breakfast, we will head to the Cusipata base, from where we will start our exciting excursion to Rainbow Mountain. During the journey, you can enjoy stunning views of the Andean landscape and learn about the culture and history of the region through the narration of our expert guides.

Hike to Rainbow Mountain

 Once at the Cusipata base, we will prepare for the hike to Rainbow Mountain. The hike, which will last between 1.5 and 2 hours, will take us through stunning landscapes, where we can admire the geological diversity that creates the characteristic layers of colors. During the hike, our guides will share information about the flora, fauna, and geology of the area, enriching our experience.

Lunch in Colcca City

 After the exciting hike and enjoying panoramic views from Rainbow Mountain, we will return to Colcca for a well-deserved lunch.

Visit to Cielo Punku

Our last stop of the day will be at Cielo Punku, an impressive canyon that offers panoramic views and an experience of serenity and awe. This unique place will allow us to connect with nature and enjoy a moment of tranquility surrounded by unique rock formations and spectacular landscapes.

Return to Cusco

 After enjoying a day full of adventures and stunning landscapes, we will return to Cusco around 16:00.

The price of the Rainbow Mountain + Cielo Punku Tour includes:

• Pick-up from accommodation in downtown Cusco
• Round-trip transportation
• Return to Cusco Historical Center
• Tour guide in English and/or Spanish
• Entrance to Rainbow Mountain
• Breakfast and lunch. Due to the geography of the area and the fact that it is a remote rural region, restaurant options are limited, so the standards may be more basic compared to those in the city of Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
• Trekking poles (upon request)

The price of the Rainbow Mountain + Cielo Punku Tour does not include

• Transfer outside Cusco Historic Center 
• Entrance to Cielo Punku Viewpoint ($6 per person) 
• Beverages

What to bring for the Rainbow Mountain + Cielo Punku hike? 

• Choose comfortable hiking shoes, warm jacket, caps or hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, rain gear or poncho (especially from November to April). 
• Passport or ID. Travel insurance. 
• Devices for audiovisual recording (cell phone, camera, camcorders) 
• Cash (local currency)

Considerations for the Rainbow Mountain + Cielo Punku Tour: 

• The city streets are narrow, limiting vehicular access to certain places; in this case, the guide will suggest a nearby point for pickup to enjoy the tour. 
• This tour is not recommended for children under 10 years old. 
• It is important to spend a few days in Cusco before taking the Rainbow Mountain + Cielo Punku tour. Only then will your body be adapted to the altitude of the region. 
• Remember that, since these are outdoor activities, the natural features of the landscape may vary depending on weather conditions and the natural daylight. Each visit is an authentic experience, where nature reveals itself in unique and unrepeatable ways.

• People with heart problems, back problems, asthma, or high blood pressure. 
• People in wheelchairs. Pregnant women.

According to Peruvian regulations, foreign tourists may be exempt from the local tax IGV (VAT). As a formal and registered travel agency, we are required to submit to the local authorities a copy of the document you used to enter the country, as well as your date of entry. For this reason, a few days before your arrival, we will contact you to request a photo of that document and ask you to let us know the date you entered Peru. If we do not receive this information, we will be required to add the 18% corresponding to the IGV tax.

• Between 7 and 30 days in advance: Penalty is 40% of the total amount
• Less than 7 days in advance: Penalty is 100% of the total amount

Date changes

• More than 30 days in advance: Penalty is 5% of the total amount
• Between 7 and 30 days in advance: Penalty is 10% of the total amount
• Less than 7 days in advance: Penalty is 100% of the total amount
• Subject to availability.
• There will be no refunds in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather, or other external factors.

Force Majeure Policy

• Guru Explorers values your time and makes every effort to follow the itinerary. However, it may be affected by force majeure events such as weather conditions, rain, natural disasters, protests, roadblocks, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided, as these are unforeseeable and unavoidable situations. Nonetheless, we will do everything possible to offer efficient alternatives and solutions for your enjoyment. Any additional costs resulting from changes or alternative activities will be the responsibility of the client and not Guru Explorers.
