4:00 – 7:00: Transfer from Cusco to Machu Picchu

The tour will begin with your transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station. Then, you will be taken on a unique train ride through the mountains until you reach Aguas Calientes. Here, a representative from Guru Explorers will be waiting to provide you with instructions on how to board the bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu, where you will meet your guide to begin the guided tour.

7:00 – 15:00: Tour of Machu Picchu and Huchuy Picchu

On the guided tour you will discover amazing architectural treasures, which are the main attractions built during the Inca period.

Once finished, you will begin the ascent to circuit 3, which covers the Huchuy Picchu mountain.

15:00 – 21:00: Return to Cusco

After this amazing hike, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes. Finally, you will take the train to Ollantaytambo and then a transfer back to Cusco.

According to Peruvian regulations, foreign tourists may be exempt from the local tax IGV (VAT). As a formal and registered travel agency, we are required to submit to the local authorities a copy of the document you used to enter the country, as well as your date of entry. For this reason, a few days before your arrival, we will contact you to request a photo of that document and ask you to let us know the date you entered Peru. If we do not receive this information, we will be required to add the 18% corresponding to the IGV tax.

Nonetheless, we will do everything possible to offer alternatives and efficient solutions for your enjoyment. Any additional costs arising from changes or alternative activities will be the responsibility of the client and not of Guru Explorers.

¿ Is it possible to get to Machu Picchu without a bus?

From Aguas Calientes it is possible to do a walking tour, although it depends on the itinerary and its duration. The walk along this route takes about an hour.

¿What objects are not allowed on the Machu Picchu Tour?

For the entrance to the Machu Picchu Citadel, you cannot enter with selfie sticks, umbrellas, alcoholic beverages, drones, cigarettes and baby strollers.
