Itinerary

7:00 a.m. – Transfer from hotel to Puno Port

Visit to the Uros Floating Islands – 12,467 ft (30-minute boat ride)

• Explore the floating islands and learn about the Uros people’s way of life.

• Interaction with local families and free time for photos.

• Time spent on the Uros Islands: 1 hour.

Visit to Taquile Island – 12,959 ft (2-hour boat ride)

• 1 to 1.5-hour walking tour on the island (30-minute uphill walk) and visit to a local family.

• Traditional lunch at a local family’s home on Taquile Island.

Transfer

• After the shared tour, you will transfer at an intermediate point to board the boat that will take you to the lodge.

Arrival at the lodge on a floating island on Lake Titicaca – 12,467 ft

• Enjoy a unique stay at a lodge on a floating island in the middle of Lake Titicaca, managed by the Uros community.

• Optional activities such as a reed boat ride around the lodge.

Day 2

• Breakfast

• Check-out: 9:00 a.m.

• Return to Puno: Transfer by the lodge’s boat to Kalapajra Port.*

• End of the tour.

Note:

• *Kalapajra Port is located 25 minutes by vehicle (under normal traffic conditions) from Puno’s Plaza de Armas. Depending on the location of your hotel, some visitors prefer to return on foot.

• If you need transportation back, we can arrange it for an additional cost. We recommend booking in advance, as the port is small and taxis are not usually available in the area.

• Please note that itinerary and navigation times may vary slightly due to weather and water conditions. This may cause boat trips and island visits to be a bit longer or shorter than expected.

What to bring to the Titicaca Lake Lodge + Uros & Taquile Tour 2D/1N?

• It is recommended to choose: comfortable shoes, light and comfortable clothing for daytime activities, very warm clothing for the night, hat, gloves, sunglasses, sun block, water, rain gear (especially in November – April).
• Passport or ID card.
• Travel insurance is recommended.
• We recommend bringing a portable charger for your cellphone. The lodge’s energy supply is limited.
• Cash (local currency). Most families in the area are dedicated to selling crafts, if you want to purchase a souvenir they only accept cash.

What considerations you should have when taking Titicaca Lake Lodge + Uros & Taquile Tour 2D/1N:

What does it mean that the tour is shared?

• It means that you can share the tour with a group of tourists of different nationalities and ages, both from Guru Explorers and from different operators. It is an excellent opportunity to connect with travelers from different parts of the world! Remember that this type of tour is operated by Guru Explorers or by our strategic partner who responds to our same standards. If you prefer a tour where you do not share with other people, please ask us for the Private Tour option.
• In the shared tour option, a pick-up time range and an approximate return time will be assigned one day before the tour date. Please consider that since it is a shared tour with other people, punctuality is important so as not to cause delays to other passengers. Also, the duration of the tour may vary depending on the pace of the members of the group. The return time may vary depending on the traffic in the area, so we provide an approximate schedule. Please remember that both traffic and the pace of tourists are not the responsibility of Guru Explorers

Other considerations

• You can include the tickets to the attractions – as an additional – in the process of contracting the Tour, or purchase it on your own directly at the place with payment in cash and in local currency (the prices of entrance tickets may vary without prior notice).
• Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
• Remember that, since these are outdoor activities, the natural features of the landscape may vary depending on weather conditions and the natural daylight. Each visit is an authentic experience, where nature reveals itself in unique and unrepeatable ways.

Not allowed:

• Pets.
• Smoke.
• Suitcases or large bags.

Not recommended for:

• People in wheelchairs.

According to Peruvian regulations, foreign tourists may be exempt from the local tax IGV (VAT). As a formal and registered travel agency, we are required to submit to the local authorities a copy of the document you used to enter the country, as well as your date of entry. For this reason, a few days before your arrival, we will contact you to request a photo of that document and ask you to let us know the date you entered Peru. If we do not receive this information, we will be required to add the 18% corresponding to the IGV tax.

Cancellation Policy

• More than 30 days in advance: Penalty is 20% of the total amount
• Between 7 and 30 days in advance: Penalty is 90% of the total amount
• Less than 7 days in advance: Penalty is 100% of the total amount

Date changes

• More than 30 days in advance: Penalty is 5% of the total amount
• Between 7 and 30 days in advance: Penalty is 90% of the total amount
• Less than 7 days in advance: Penalty is 100% of the total amount
• Subject to availability.
• There will be no refunds in case of delayed flights, train delays, bad weather, or other external factors.

Force Majeure Policy

• Guru Explorers values your time and makes every effort to follow the itinerary. However, it may be affected by force majeure events such as weather conditions, rain, natural disasters, protests, roadblocks, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, no refunds or compensation will be provided, as these are unforeseeable and unavoidable situations. Nonetheless, we will do everything possible to offer efficient alternatives and solutions for your enjoyment. Any additional costs resulting from changes or alternative activities will be the responsibility of the client and not Guru Explorers.
