What to visit during tour

Rainbow Mountain

Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca. It is a wonderful destination that should not be missed. This rainbow-colored mountain is one of the most important natural attractions in Cusco and Peru as a whole. What makes this mountain a true masterpiece is the majesty of its colors, which stand out most prominently on its slopes.

Visually, this mountain is a spectacle worth witnessing. For many people, the ascent of this mountain is a great challenge. However, the views it offers from the summit are panoramic and ideal for photography. Without a doubt, this destination showcases the natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes, offering an extraordinary experience.

The mountain is located at approximately 5,200 meters above sea level, making it a significant elevation. As expected, its name is attributed to the palette of colors it presents.

Various shades of red, green, and yellow can be distinguished. The presence of this coloring on the mountain is the result of the oxidation of various minerals such as clay, iron, and other elements.

Another interesting fact to know about this destination is that the colors of the mountain can vary depending on the season and weather conditions. During the rainy season, the colors may be more vibrant due to the humidity and surface cleansing.

It is important to mention that this mountain is considered a sacred place for all local communities, adding significant value to the journey. Visiting this site is a unique opportunity to appreciate Andean nature and spirituality at its finest.

Currently, this place is inhabited by indigenous communities predominantly of Quechua culture. This entire community coexists in harmony with the characteristic nature of this mountain.

The Rainbow Mountain and its surroundings are a natural and cultural treasure in the Peruvian Andes that offers you the opportunity to explore a beauty unique in the world!”
